"Time Expired" and Further Development (TE & FD) Management Qualification Programmes

Accredited by CMI

Management qualification programmes have been designed for personnel who have successfully completed service career courses (Army, RAF, Navy) that at the time, had been accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) However, some personnel did not enrol to complete the full CMI qualification within the registration time period following their course therefore they are now "time expired". The "Time Expired" and Further Development qualification programmes explained here enable these personnel to engage with a process to achieve nationally recognised management qualifications. The programmes also allow for further development, to enable candidates to achieve a higher level qualification. These qualifications are on the Regulated Qualifications Framework and are listed at Annex A.

Programme Management

Access to Programmes

The Temple Hewitt Partnership (c/o MDN) offer the TE & FD route to management qualifications as part of their comprehensive training and development portfolio.
Referrals are accepted via Army Education Centres, the Chartered Management Institute - Qualifications Department, and directly from personnel.

Programme Requirements

The TE & FD qualification programmes are for people who did not initially take up a qualification during their management career. It allows additional work to be completed to obtain the qualification or enhance it through further development.

The TE & FD programmes are blended in their approach and recognise both learning and experience.

We can cross reference training programmes you have attended, looking for the acquisition of knowledge and understanding.

We can map in work based activity and experience as this is also an area of learning and development.

A final part of the programmes is the acquisition of new skills, knowledge and understanding through additional development, reading and research.

The TE & FD programmes would be supported by The Temple Hewitt Partnership and the CMI website support material.

All programmes have one year free CMI membership.

There are no classes to attend all programmes are via distance or face to face learning.

The higher the qualifiaction the more development will take place.

Programmes can be commenced at any time.

The programmes timescale is determined by the length of time it takes to complete each area of work.

All work is progressively assessed during the programmes.
